Before Doppelio
-
The client set up a sophisticated validation lab with different kinds of servers and networking infrastructure. They were able to conduct functional testing with the setup but were unable to perform load and performance testing due to limited device availability. Setting up hundreds of physical devices was not feasible. Devices were challenging to simulate due to their complex data and connectivity characteristics.
With Doppelio
- Virtualized their devices with various protocols communicating over MQTT, TCP and UDP.
- Devices, like infusion pumps, act as TCP, UDP clients, and TCP/UDP servers for different parts of data flow. Devices needed to have unique IP addresses and listen on specific port numbers.
- Simulated the communication flows for events, alerts, drug downloads, configurations, OTA updates, etc.
- Customer could conduct regression load tests with any number of devices at the click of a button.
- Authoritative test reports with detailed metrics were readily available.
